Short Stories

I think short stories are something that has gone underrated in our world. That’s not to say that some people don’t read them often and enjoy them but I find in general, I wouldn’t even know where to start looking for them, should I want to read them.

As a story teller, I really enjoy them. they are snippets of other worlds, condensed and filtered down. I feel like when I attempt to write a short story I’m going into battle – GET IN, TELL THE STORY, GET OUT. Do it in as few words as possible. TRUST THE READER TO MAKE THE LEAPS I NEED.

For me, I consider them a writing exercise – like studies or etudes are in music – they have GREAT value and importance, even if it’s not readily apparent.

So! I hope to continue posting short works here – new worlds, new characters, maybe short snippets of existing stories I’ve told. They’ll likely be a little rough around the edges, but I hope you join me in these experiments.

I appreciate and value your feedback, should you have any!

My first short story, Persephone Rising, is coming soon! I’m just editing it and seeing if I can get some artwork to go along with it.

Please let me know when Covencraft #3 is available. Also, can’t wait for more of Bruce.

I’m happy to report that Bruce is in A LOT of book 3 so far [I’m still writing it!] – for a quick fix, I have a short story set in the Covencraft world for free on smashwords – Carnival Moon. I’ll be sending out an email and posting on my blog when book 3 is ready!
